What mushrooms work best for marinating?
Although this recipe primarily makes use of button white mushrooms for this recipe, we recently tried it with baby Bella mushrooms, and even though they have a slightly earthier flavor than button white, and I must admit, I really loved how they turned out.
With the combination of seasonings and flavors, these are almost like Italian marinated mushrooms.
These mushrooms are low in calories, 4 mushrooms have around 150 calories, so they make the perfect snack. They are not fattening…
How long should mushrooms stay in the marinade before they are ready to serve?
Make sure to marinade the mushrooms for at least 5 minutes.
Keep in mind that these mushrooms benefit the most from the marinade if it is added to them, while they are still warm. So it is safe to say that the more the mushrooms stay in the marinade, the tastier they get.
How long do they last? Can you freeze them?
These mushrooms could be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 10 days. However, these do not also freeze so well.
Its a recipe that suits the holidays, especiallywhen schools are closed, snacks for parties and so much more.
